Bole's Troop

I stopped by to check out Bole's troop at the PPZ last week. The babies' fur has changed from black to the olive color of their parents. Kaia is overprotective and grabs her son's tail if he tries to stray. Rebecca is much more lax with her boy. Poor Zula. She was once Bole's number one lady, and now she spends most of her time alone.

Duckweed on the Lullwater

The Lullwater in Prospect Park is teeming with life: a thick coat of duckweed covers the water, the swans have a brood of cygnets, and even the dragonflies are mating. I've also seen a snowy egret and a night heron but haven't been able to snap any decent pics.
